Server Requirements
This chapter discusses server requirements for
the Database, File and Application server necessary to support
WebFlex Internet Architecture.
Database
Server:
The
database server houses your WebFlex database.
File
Server:
A file is required to share printers and maintain
a master copy of the system programs used by WebFlex software.
Application
Server:
The
Sybase Enterprise Application server consists of the web
server and the component server. The application server
servers as a middleman managing information requested from
the user workstation and the results provided by the database.
It is designed to manage the Pendylum transaction and components
to ensure the highest performance levels.
Hardware
Database/
File/ Application Server Hardware Minimum Requirements:

- Memory
- 512 MB
- Sufficient
disk space to accommodate:

in excess of O/S, dB and standard server software installed.
Pendylum
recommends clients provide an uninterruptible power supply
(USP) with sufficient capacity to allow an orderly shutdown
of the database and operating system in the event of a power
failure.
